Veneers

Veneers work similar to crowns. They are very thin shells of a tooth coloured material that cement onto the natural tooth surface for cosmetic purposes. They may be an option for people who have had an accident and have damaged a tooth or the tooth is miss coloured. They improve the aesthetics of your smile to give you more confidence.

What is the veneers procedure?

A small amount of your natural tooth will be reduced to so that the veneer sits naturally and isn’t bulky. If the tooth is damaged the dentist may need to build the tooth up with filling material. The dentist will then take some impressions to send off to the lab, for the lab to make veneers that fit your smile and blend in with your natural teeth. You will then need a second appointment for the veneers to be cemented on.

How to care for your veneers?

Due to veneers being very thin, they can be brittle, so you may want to avoid biting with then, for example if all your front teeth have got veneers on then, you can cut up your food and chew with the back teeth. If the veneer breaks/fractures they will need to be replaced.

Tranter, Working Feedback

“As a long-term patient at the practice, I have witnessed a lot of change over the years but the one constant is the professionalism and caring side of the practice. I and my family use Denplan and come twice a year for check-ups/hygienists and are looked after very well. Yesterday, on my regular check-up, a part of my filling had broken so I was back today to sort it. To say my anxiety was high was an understatement! But the dental nurse was amazing and with the wonderful dentist, they got me through it in a very subtle but successful way! Their patience was so appreciated! A huge thank you from me.”

Both the dentist and the hygienist were very pleasant. They listened to what I had to say and responded well.
