Root Canal Treatment

Endodontics is a branch of dentistry concerning the nerve and tissues surrounding the roots of your teeth. Root Canals treat the tissue inside the tooth and removes the inflamed nerve. Endodontic treatment is not painful, and it is sometimes the best way to save a damaged tooth.

Why would I need a Root Canal?

Root Canal’s are only required when a dental x-ray shows that a bacterial infection has damaged the tooth’s internal structure. The tooth will begin to die and start to cause you pain. In cases such as this, we would assess the tooth’s nerve, remove the inflamed tissue, fill the area with a unique filling material and then place either a filling or crown on the treated tooth.

How successful are Root Canal Treatments?

Root canal treatment is successful a majority of the time, with only 1 in 10 ending in tooth loss. We would recommend to have a crown fitted onto a treated tooth as it will prevent further damage, as the treatment tooth can become weaker than an untreated tooth.

Tranter, Working Feedback

“As a long-term patient at the practice, I have witnessed a lot of change over the years but the one constant is the professionalism and caring side of the practice. I and my family use Denplan and come twice a year for check-ups/hygienists and are looked after very well. Yesterday, on my regular check-up, a part of my filling had broken so I was back today to sort it. To say my anxiety was high was an understatement! But the dental nurse was amazing and with the wonderful dentist, they got me through it in a very subtle but successful way! Their patience was so appreciated! A huge thank you from me.”

Both the dentist and the hygienist were very pleasant. They listened to what I had to say and responded well.
