Dental Bridges

A bridge is used to replace a missing tooth or multiple missing teeth in a row. A dental bridge works by using two surrounding healthy teeth to hold false teeth over the gap or gaps. Usually the supporting teeth are crowned to increase their strength; however there are various types of bridges that may not include crowning teeth. The dentist will discuss these options with you in your consultation and help you discuss which bridge is more suitable for you.

What are Dental Bridges made out of?

Bridges are made of metal and porcelain or sometimes just porcelain and ceramics. Depending on what is most suitable for you and what you want to achieve, the price will vary. But our friendly dentists will always explain all the options to you so you can make the best decision for you.

What are the benefits of Dental Bridges?

If there is something your not quite happy with your teeth and would like to know your options, please do not hesitate to call us and book your dental assessment today.

→ A bridge can help complete your smile and help build your confidence

→ It can improve your bites function and can help you eat and chew

→ They look just like your natural teeth as the dentist can match your shade

→ They can last many years

→ Can prevent the surrounding teeth being overloaded with the bites force

The surrounding teeth will be prepped the same as they would be prepped for a crown by reducing the sides of the teeth to fit a crown over the top and impressions are taken. The dentist will place a temporary bridge until the permanent bridge comes back from the lab (tailor made for you) and will be cemented on.

The only downside with bridges is that the surrounding teeth will require healthy tooth structure to be shaved down for the crowns to be fitted. As always, your natural teeth will always be the best set you will ever get and we will always work with you to help maintain your oral hygiene (to save your natural teeth for as long as possible). We will always discuss the most suitable options to meet your needs.

Tranter, Working Feedback

“As a long-term patient at the practice, I have witnessed a lot of change over the years but the one constant is the professionalism and caring side of the practice. I and my family use Denplan and come twice a year for check-ups/hygienists and are looked after very well. Yesterday, on my regular check-up, a part of my filling had broken so I was back today to sort it. To say my anxiety was high was an understatement! But the dental nurse was amazing and with the wonderful dentist, they got me through it in a very subtle but successful way! Their patience was so appreciated! A huge thank you from me.”

Anonymous, Working Feedback

Both the dentist and the hygienist were very pleasant. They listened to what I had to say and responded well.
