Dental Check-Ups

Booking in regularly for a dental appointment is really important, we recommend getting a check-up every year to ensure that your teeth remain healthy and no problems arise. Depending on the current condition of your teeth, you may need to receive a check-up more regularly.

Why should you attend a check-up?

Keeping on top of your oral health can help to prevent any problems from arising. This will reduce the amount of treatments you’ll need to recieve, such as fillings and crowns. The more regularly you get checked, the less likely you will have any issues.

What do we look for during your check-up?

During your examination your dentist will check the your teeth for any signs of issues, as well as your gums and soft tissues. If there is sign of decay the dentist may request a x-ray to be taken. They will also monitor your soft tissues and glands between each appointment, this helps them identify problems such as thyroid issues and cancer early on.

The dentist will also advice you on how to look after your teeth and gums to ensure your mouth stays healthy.

Do children need regular check-ups?

It’s really important that you begin regularly taking your child for dental check-ups, this is to both get your child used to the routine of going to the dentist, as well as to identify problems such as decay that can also be seen in children. The dentist can advise both you and your child on oral health regimes and help prevent any problems from arising.

Tranter, Working Feedback

“As a long-term patient at the practice, I have witnessed a lot of change over the years but the one constant is the professionalism and caring side of the practice. I and my family use Denplan and come twice a year for check-ups/hygienists and are looked after very well. Yesterday, on my regular check-up, a part of my filling had broken so I was back today to sort it. To say my anxiety was high was an understatement! But the dental nurse was amazing and with the wonderful dentist, they got me through it in a very subtle but successful way! Their patience was so appreciated! A huge thank you from me.”
